Easy eco friendly tips
Sometimes we don't realise how much small changes can really help the environment and make a difference to the world around us.
Every little action taken does count, and while of course the more the better, even one simple change is a step towards a better future.
That's why we've compiled a list of a few of the easiest and most effective changes you can make for a more environmentally friendly life.
1 – Go paperless
Are you still getting all your bills and notices in your letterbox? Change over all your accounts to be paperless and instead get everything sent straight to your email.
It ends up being far more convenient for you – no more lost letters and information – and it's also a big win for the environment.
2 – Head to the library
Instead of buying new books which uses a ton of paper, why not head to the local library and borrow a book instead?
Better yet, you could download books onto a digital device such as an eReader so that zero paper is involved!
3 – Avoid single-use plastic
Disposable plastic items such as bags, wrap and packaging all contribute to damage to land and marine life and end up unnecessarily filling up the landfill.
Instead of plastic bags, invest in reusable shopping bags to take you from the supermarket to the shopping mall.
As well as this, ditch the plastic sandwich wrap and use reusable sandwich wraps instead – these can be washed and used over and over, so there's no need to throw anything in the bin.
4 – Use natural products
Switching to natural products in the home such as organic cleaners, washing powders, and body products is better for the environment. Products that are plant-based and biodegradable are great because it means run-off water isn't filled with chemicals.
